Just thought I'd remind everyone that today is a holiday. Are any of the Tri-Cities doing any thing special for MLK Day? I heard Kingsport was having a parade, but not for sure. I have not heard much going on?

No parade, but everything, including schools and banks are closed so a lot of folks get the day off.

BTW, Kingsport did have a MLK JR Day Parade - the 10th annual. They also had a candlelight vigil. There were also some services in the Carver community in JC and around Carver Park, I believe.

Really? Well I learn something new about my back yard every day. Where was the parade? The usual route is Center to Fort Henry. I was in town Monday and didn't see a sign of it. Maybe it was a timing thing?

I'm not sure. I just read about it in the Times-News.
