Was your 3rd photo that showed a hotel/condo area in the far distance taken in Poipu? The entire area shown there looks familiar to me.
Looks like Poipu beach park looking East along Hoone road toward the athletics club/condos. Could be wrong though.

Keep the rain coming though! It was too dry last year.

Your photos are magnificent! I especially LOVE the rainbow one. I'd purchase that in a heartbeat to put on my wall, here. Those photos make me want to visit Kauai next time we visit Hawaii. It looks like my exact idea of Paradise :-). Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Yes, you are correct. The 3rd and 4th pics were from Poipu Beach.

Thanks, Atler. Photography has been a hobby of mine for a while. And what better place to enjoy that hobby than the beautiful island of Kauai?!

Here are a few more:

Thanks, Jim! That's actually my son jumping into the pool at Queen's Bath. He had a great time on the trip with us.

Here one my son took of me after swimming behind Hanakapi'ai Falls. Even though I'm small in the frame, it shows the scale of this amazing waterfall. Man, that is a beautiful trail and hike.

Right on, I was thinking either Salt Pond or Queen's Bath. Great one of Hanakapi'ai, one of my favourite hikes, along with Ho'opi'i & Kalalau. Awa'awapuhi also is cherry.

Nice! I got a chance to visit on a working trip. Now I want to go back! While there I overheard a student describing a canoe trip around the island. She took hula in school and when she paddled around and saw the beautiful mountains coming out of the ocean it brought to life one of the dances they'd been doing in class. Your picture of that from the water reminded me of that. Were you in a boat?

This is an island I would love to live on. Lots of trees and sometimes a flake or two of snow up high.

Regarding snow on Kaua'i, it seems theoretically possible (road to 4000' and mountain to 5000' elevation), but I have yet to hear of snow falling, let alone see evidence. Other than a tourist dropping their shave ice.

Oh and mentioning Queen's bath practically requires a disclaimer. People have died there when they ventured out on the rock ledges and got hit by big waves--the kind forecast right now and often in the winter.

Yes, we took a NaPali boat tour from the North Shore which entered into to some of the sea caves. The views from the water were stunning! If I go again I would like catch it from a kayak. A friend of mine did it and said it was awesome.
