15 miles from the west side of Manhattan to the center of post. When K-18 is complete, it will make life much easier. The project is supposed to be done Fall of '13. Even with the construction, I only spend roughly 20 minutes per day going to work and tops of 30 getting home.

The drive from Manhattan to Ft Riley is about 20 mins depending on where you are going on post. If you are going up to the "Hill" give yourself more time. Just a bit of advice I would take some time to drive around post especially up on the Hill it can be very confusing with the roundabouts. I miss Ft. Riley. However buying a home in the area I would choose JC if you want the shorter commute. Post is right off city limits.
