Looking for a cheaper place to live, better quality of life, and family friendly place. Looking for information specific to 64151 in Kansas City, Mo.

What are the apartment complexes like? I have seen many listed on the major rental websites. Do we need to worry our heads off or do we just need to exercise diligence just like anywhere else? Any Policeman on the message board from KC - MO in 64151 that can talk from experience? Social workers? Nurses? Neighborhood Residents?

What is the culture like? Livability? Friendliness of people in the area? Thanks for any input!

That is right on the edge of Platte County near the Clay County border. That is a nice area and near lot of shopping including Zona Rosa. You have Park Hill schools, a relatively low crime area, it's clean, quiet, and overall just a very nice area that isnt too expensive. There are several apartment complexes and most of them are pretty nice and a few of them I would even consider high scale.

It is going to be a mainly Caucasian area and everyone is going to be pretty friendly.

Probably 75% of all Kansas City, MO police officers live north of the river. I wouldn't necessarily limit myself to 64151. 64152, 53, 54, 55, 57 very comparable.

64151 is a normal area, not different than a lot of areas in Johnson County. Great area to live in as are literally most of the areas north of the river. There are your normal areas and your high end areas all around. One thing I would state though about limiting zip codes, Attempt to get in the Park Hill School District. 64151 is this and it will only help when attempting to sell.

Why Park Hill over any other Northland school district? Liberty, NKC, Platte County, Smithville are all just as good.

Personally, my kids will always be in NKC as long as we live here.

Like others have said, very nice suburban area. Super convenient to suburban amenities (zona rosa, briarcliff, tiffany springs, tulleries), yet one of the closest newer suburban areas to downtown. It's also very close to KCI. Downtown Parkville is nearby as well. Most of the apartment complexes will be nice, if not upscale. There are some really nice subdivisions (mostly upscale) on both sides of I-29.

It's NOT like Johnson County either, other than having some higher demographic areas. The topography is totally different than just about anything in JoCo and it's much closer to downtown with less traffic.

just moved from kansas city to saint louis. i lived in hunters glenn apartments right off of prairie and nw 72 i think. it's pretty nice and in the 64151 zip. 5 min to zona rosa, tullieries, and briarcliff. 10 min to rivermarket. my guilty pleasure was metro north mall for all their constant sales. parkville also 5 min away for a nice historic getaway

Wow, hunters glen? We lived there like 15 years ago! That place was an old complex back then, but was very well maintained and they always tried to keep it updated as best they could. Just proves that with good management older complexes can remain viable and desirable communities.
