Hi there helpful people:

I would like to attend a job fair in St. Louis. Never been there; but understand I can take Amtrak or Megabus (sounds like Megabus is faster?) Has anyone ever taken the Megabus? My final destination would be the Sheraton in Westport.

Thanks in advance for comments.

I have heard Megabus is ok, but neither megabus or amtrak will get you very close to westport. You will probably have to take a bus from downtown out there or take metrolink to Clayton and take a bus from there.

Why not find a friend in KC and just split the gas? The bus route might be cheap, but it will take forever, especially since you will have to use public transit once you get there. Same with Amtrak, only it will cost even more.

You could book a $50 flight on Southwest and catch an airport shuttle to westport and be back the same day.

Thanks for the advice, KCMO. Perhaps I can find someone to go with me.

It's a real simple drive and with Gas prices low you probably aren't spending much more if more at all.

If Im not mistaken all you have to do is hit 70 until you hit 270 south in the Suburbs of St. Louis right past St. Charles. Go on 270 south for 3 or 4 miles and take the Page Ave exit. That should take you right to Westport. It's been awhile since i have been there but I think that is the area you are looking for.

I'd drive it if I were you - faster, cheaper, and far more convenient.

It's not impossible, but it would be kind of a pain. You could take Megabus to St. Louis. it ends at Union Station and you'd take the metrolink out to the Wellston stop where you could pick up the 94 bus. you would eventually end up all the way out at Westport but Wellston is not a great -- OK it's a pretty terrible -- area.
