Kansas City Comets Highlight Film - YouTube

Ran across the video and wow the memories really started coming back.

The KC Comets were the main reason KC lost its NBA team if you ask me. The Comets were outdrawing nearly every NBA team during the time, especially the Kings. They were so fun, sold out ever night, on TV etc. The Kings could never get a foothold and took a back seat to the Royals, Chiefs and Comets. Had the Comets not been so popular, KC would probably still have the Kings today.

I remember the Comets and the Royals were all the rage in the 1980's. Good times.

It looks like from what I have seen on TV that the atmosphere at MLS Sporting KC games are similar to the glory years of the Comets.

MetroSports ran a documentary the other night on the Comets.

In 1984, the Comets outdrew every indoor sports team in the country including NBA and NHL teams.

Speaking of Comets, they just secured a playoff spot. It will be on Friday, March 9th. They have a couple of home games left before that though.
