I figured it out. I will let WC try to solve the mystery
Not a park and not a walking trail but I recently took my daughter there.

How about Waggoner-Gates Milling Company?

Thank you for this nostalgia Those are some darn good posts from the past. Very interesting. Income was $2,800 a week but after the health warning it dropped to $144.75 the following week.

I never went to Doutt's Lake to swim. Had friends who did, though. Always went to the Sugar Creek Pool unless with the Scouts I went to William Jewel College pool or the Hall of Waters in Excelsior Springs.

It seems to me that over the years after the '72 pool proposal, Doutt's were going to bring back swimming in that area and never did.

Identify the buildings in this view.

The not a walking trail is the railroad.

Correct for the upper portion, the lower portion is the Bingham/Waggoner Estate.

Business must have increased within a few years, as you can see in the view from June 28, 1963 the Mill has added several grain silos.

The Patriotic Party was formed in Independence by Robert Depugh and the Minutemen on July 3 and 4, 1966.

Four hundred people attended the convention but they were actually seated in the U Smile Motel on 40 Highway in Kansas City.

The party adopted 51 planks in its platform and intended to run candidates in the state election of 1968 and the national election in 1972.

By 1967, Depugh claimed the Patriotic Party was the largest third party in the US.

The 1967 convention took place on July 3 and 4 at the Town House Motor Inn, Kansas City Kansas, when 600 people attended.

The one black member attended from California.
