Well, I guess that means Jacksonville will no longer be affordable. It would be nice if they located it downtown. What a draw that would be for visitors to downtown, but I doubt they will do that -- probably in the St. Johns's Town Center.

They are putting so many businesses around Town Center the traffic can only get worse. There was an accident last week, really bad. I'd love to see Macy's go downtown but my guess is it will fill the old Parisian site at the Avenues which is now empty.

Still waiting on some solid proof that this is even true. So hold the lengthy discussion on where is should be, the whys and why nots, and why downtown sucks.

when did Macy's become unaffordable? It's just a regular department store now.

So where's the link to the source? I'll believe it when I see it. Am not holding my breath. Robyn

I think its ok. But in my opinion there are higher quality department stores out there. There are many Macys' that surround the Jax market, but they never seemed to land in Jacksonville til now. I guess SIMON Properties is bringing them in.

There are 2 kinds of Macy's in Florida. The real Macy's (which is fine) and the Macy's which is rebranded old Burdines stores (most of those stores are pretty bad). Closest real Macy's to us is in Orlando - Mall at Millenia. Robyn

ding. i'd would like to see a Nordstrom, at least. Neiman Marcus would definitely be the "unaffordable" department store.
