Also, this is good news. Looks like Hemming Plaza will be turned back into a real park.

A new park is being created in Downtown Jax, directly on the river:

Good move by the city. I would love to see a children's museum close by.

MOSH, MOCA, and The Cummer all have great childrens wings and programs. MOSH basically is a childrens museum, more or less.

So does the Main Library. So does the animatronics company (the name escapes me) in Downtown.

All within a few miles, literally, some 1/2 mile away.

Once you have visited Children's Museums in Boston, Chicago, New York and Atlanta to name just a few you will find that there is no comparison to the ones you have listed above. A wing to visit does not make for a day of amusement for children. I would never compare the MOSH to a genuine children's museum as it lacks substantially in interactive and hands on exhibits that children's museums offer.

Here's a copy of a 1915 postcard showing what Hemming Plaza used to look like as a "real" park.

Dissapointed in MOSH when I took the kids a month ago. Not that big or impressive. Then again, I'm comparing it to Memphis and Chattanooga which have standalone ones.
