If you love shells and love something different - then keep an eye on the boardwalks to the beaches around Jacksonville - these little pieces of unique art are being left for you to find. You can also follow the Shell Givers Blog and facebook page for hints as to where they will appear next

Very cool idea and the painted shells are beautiful.

I'm not a Facebooker but did check out the blogspot page. The link is bad - This one works: The Shell Giver

I'll tip my hat to anyone who puts so much work into something just to share it with others, good for you! No doubt you put smiles on a lot of faces, imagine the smile on a childs face with one of your shells in their hand.

Welcome and great first post!

As a long time but largely retired shell collector these days - I commend you for working with local sustainable shells and not the imported non-sustainable stuff that is widely sold in Florida. And for throwing back the live ones .

FWIW - the best place to shell in Florida is - by far - Sanibel Island. If you've never been - treat yourself to a trip there. Best shelling is at the winter solstice low tides. Robyn

Was just there last week- for the fifth time. What a great spot! However it was a little crowded for Spring Break but all families. We usually go anytime from Nov-Feb. Sanibel/Captiva = real deal.

Shell Giver-I checked out your blog and your artwork is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your unique creations with people as an act of kindness. You have a wonderful talent and you must have a lot of patience to paint something so small in such intricate detail.
