It has the highest murder rate in the state. There are no good jobs except for fast food. The traffic is terrible. The roads are the worst laid out of any city I've ever lived in. The schools are terrible. I could go on and on. My best advice is if your thinking about moving there, DON'T!!! You will regret it therest of your life.
You can't argue with crazy.

Default Ponte Vedra & Vero Beach are not for the average joe.

The 2 places you mention are for people who have a considerable amount of money and are not representative of the Jacksonville area as a whole. Agreed, you are referencing 2 small good places that are far out of reach for the great majority of Jacksonville's citizens. The fact is you can drive all around the rest of the jacksonville area and see the majority of businesses are closed. Blocks and blocks of empty strip malls. Entire neighborhoods with almost all of the houses up for sale. It's so bad even the ghetto dwellers have left for better ghettos. Drive around the northside and you will see for yourself. Your post is misleading, of course the gated community areas are going to appear better. We lived in one, after a few years it began to feel like a compound. We live in Boca now and feels like we have moved back to the future.

I don't understand what you think is crazy. Is it that I speak the truth? Do you not watch or read the local news? The high unemployment rate versus the national average, the lack of good jobs, the poisoned fresh water supply, how the St. John's river turns green every summer because it so polluted, some of the worst schools in the nation, the meth labs popping up everywhere. There is a lot more I could go on about. It's as though you live with rose colored glasses on. Take them off and look around you with clear eyes.

You think you're grateful, we (the whole city of Jacksonville) threw a party when your Dum Bass left here! You were embarrassing us, in ways beyond belief.

Just about any small rural town, that's not right next to Miami, Disney or a beach.
