Even if it was not in decline, the enviro's, insurance and bonding, Israel and Iran, and a host of other destabilizing factors are going to cause local communities to invest in fuel independence. Security not profits are our future.

In the name of security, many things are and will be justified. When you take the profit motive out of the mix , things can change fast. ... At one time in our history , hydro played a major role in local, regional electric needs. The big power companies set back the country many years by offering "cheap" ,plentiful connects to the grid, as long as the Hydros were shut down. Just one example of how greed, profits, and the quest for control of our energy needs has come about the last 75 years..... The next 75 years will be different, one way or the other. We can have the pain now or later or a little along the way...towards clean energy Independence.

Yes, last time I looked we had our aircraft carriers, destroyers and cruisers powered by hydroelectric power. In the name of foresaking oil, we have reverted back to using bows and arrows and slingshots to defeat our enemies. Don't forget to enjoy the maiden voyage of American Airlines 001 powered by two state of the art sideway windmills rated at a capacity of 256 horsepower, slated to reach your destination of Washington D.C. in the year 2275. Have a nice trip!

Yes, the time has come!

That kind of technology is 100 years away. You sure know how many years it took to perfect the fossil fuel aeroplane, right?

I think BP should be a BUY very soon... I think their new approach to it by cutting and capping will work... I called it earlier that the Top Kill would fail and that shares would drop to $30... its at $36 now.... I am putting a BUY order in when it reaches a certain threshold... BP will survive and I think its only now a matter of days before its capped...

At this point, BP is the bad guy. Everyone else is pointing fingers at them, today there will be more from the Government regarding the investigation of wrong doing. Its the criminal counts that count and the push for prosecution will be strong, very strong. Obama does not want to " own" this mess, he is at a point where this could become his Waterloo , so, look for BP to take the hit big time. This is the reason I feel their stock is a bad buy, now , and in the future. The markets do not like uncertainties, this is a big one and will be for years.

We already have nuke powered ships. Nothing new. I do not see nuke powered airplanes in our future. High speed electric passenger trains will come first. Mass transport by air makes little sense, too much of a bottle neck, wasteful fuel costs, crowded air space, security concerns, are just a few reasons.... I see a massive effort by the Government to rebuild, build new, and improve grade crossings, track, and monorail, as the future trend .It will be a huge battle to get it sold, higher fuel costs would help.

Best of luck. I'd use dollars that are not necessary for your future. Worse odds than Powerball.

There are reports saying they are looking at a billion dollars expenditure, so far, at least.

They may not survive
