If you had it to do all over again would you have added your family to your Facebook List?

Ha. I think this is a great post. I can be a little cranky on Facebook. When my friends post stuff really dumb stuff, I tend to call them out on it. I'd prefer my in-laws not see some of those posts.
Just one example: "Share this if you love God. 98% of people won't"
Yea, because this isn't the freaking place to discuss religion! Politics. Religion. Ever hear of the 2 things you should really discuss in public.
Totally agree with the OP which is why I don't friend some people.

I've added family I ain't that close to on FB but would never add my mother. She is over religious and can be domineering so she would make a huge deal over crap I post that 95% of my FB friends couldn't care less about. Like last weekend, I went to Pittsburgh for a rap concert, she'd be horrified to know I traveled up there solo and listen to a rapper who raps about smoking weed religiously.
You can also create groups for your family. One side of my extended family has a secret group. We used that group last year to discuss a relative's deteriorating health, so that only the extended family could see it. Nobody outside of the group can see those posts, or even knows that the group exists. It's like being on our own private island within the Facebook ocean.

I ran into another problem which I am part of a certain FB group and someone added my cousin. Now I can start certain adult topics in that group because she will see them and I don't think you can prevent that in a facebook group.

Correct, everyone sees everything posted in a group. But since the group was there before she was, IMO it's her problem if she's offended by the discussions in the group. She can always remove herself from it.

I know but it's a side of me I don't want a relative knowing about. lol

OIC. Yes, in that instance, you're just stuck. Unless you can persuade an administrator of the group to uninvite your cousin.
