I'm posting in a personal capacity--no commercial blogging. I like to talk about lifestyle in general, and also review some entertainment. Personal experiences.
OTOH, my professional interests are about policy issues relating to tech stuff and some politics (not Democrat vs. Republican politics, but I mean policy issues around the world).
What are the practical implications of dividing it up? I can perhaps see a rationale for dividing the personal/professional--although even then some topics might straddle the line. But on the personal one, is an anything goes approach ok?
What is practical for you?
Note: I don't care about making money or SEO--all the advice on the internet I found on this topic was about monetizing stuff which is why I turned here--I'm just interested in your experiences.
I say it depends on how much of each topic you'll put into a single blog. I think if more than 60% of your blog consists of a single topic, then do 2 blogs.
It depends on your potential audience. I suggest multiple blogs—unless the blogs is literally about you (and your tastes, thoughts, etc.). The blogs I follow are on very specific topics. I get annoyed if a blogger inserts random posts about his cats, recent vacation, etc.
