Question about Wordpress (working, click, audio, highlight)

Ok I am new to blogging and Wordpress, I was wondering what the following does

Format
Standard
Gallery
Image
Video
Audio
Quote
Link
Status
Aside

Right now "Standard" is highlighted what do those other do, if I click on any of them would it mess up my entire blog and all of my posts and pages? and if I clicked again on standard would everything I have done including posts etc. return to normal or does it only effect the current post I am working on?
I'm afraid to click on those other ones for fear I will mess up my blog. thanks ted

It's just the type of post you're making. If you want to post an image, it's probably best to choose "image" formatting. If you want to post a status, like a twitter-style post (low character count) the Status formatting setup might be good for that post.

It's independent for each post, it won't affect the other posts you have made.
