Last night I set up our Sony Bravia XBR9 to stream Netflix. I ran an ethernet cable from the Fios router to the TV, so the audio and video signal are both going directly to the TV. I wanted to get the audio signal to come out of our 5.1 speakers, so I ran analog coax from the TV's audio output jacks to the receiver.
(There is no way I can see to run the audio from the router to the receiver, as the receiver has no ethernet input or HDMI inputs; it's from 2002.)
The picture is great. But I can only get sound from the TV speakers. I really want it to come through the receiver and out of our 5.1 speakers.
Anyone know if it's possible to get an analog audio signal to come from the TV if the incoming signal (via ethernet) is digital?
Alternatively, I'll get a 6-foot optical cable and try that.
