Hi,

My husband has just moved to indianapolis and will be here for a contract job for 5-8 months. He is looking for an inexpensive place to stay some where close to his work area.

Can you please suggest some appt complexes that we can look at. ALso how is this area in terms of safety and stuff ? Any other areas that we can look for appt rental ?

I've heard bad things about Gladden Farms apartments in Plainfield and know that the police are called there more frequently than other places in town.

I think the problem is that we have no idea what you mean by "inexpensive". If you are used to living in NYC, anything here would be very inexpensive to you.

I have heard mostly good about the Central Park apartments by the Metropolis mall, but not sure how their pricing is.

Thanks Michelle. dint realize that i had not mentioned any amount. Inexpensive would be like 450-650 for a studio or 1 bedroom house. Would that be a reasonable price ? Or would it be more expensive than that ? The thing is that we have no idea how much appts will cost in that place. I am currently residing in Charlotte, NC so 550-650 is the normal range here for a single roomed appt. 800 or more would be expensive in clt. Is that the same thing there ?

Default Plainfield move

I worked in Plainfield for three weeks when I first got to Indy a year ago and it seemed small town atmosphere with friendly people.

Here are some resources they might help (sorry if you already know these):

The local paper classifieds has a apartment for rent section here:

Hope this helps

I dont have the name of an apartment complex but I can tell you Plainfied is a very safe, subruban small town. Keep in mind the airport is just a few miles down the road and crime, safety gets much worse as you get into that neighborhood. I think anything west of the Metropolis Shopping Center on Washington St should place you in a very nice neighborhood.

Just an added note - Plainfield has a really nice park district.
