I just had to post. I grew up in Milan. Lived there until I was a junior in high school. I just loved it. Often wish I could move back but has never happened.

Milan is indeed small and could benefit from growth of new business. However, our schools are the best! Teachers take a real interest in each child. Kids seem to be nicer to each other than at other local schools. Bullying isn't an issue here.

I am delighted to say that we are moving on this mindset. I am gathering people interested in the Main Street Indiana Program so that we can form our own chapter.

Milan has it's own heritage and history. We are going to focus on that, with an eye towards revitalization and the future. There are many dreams for the area right now, and time will show us what will work best. The main thing is, as has been said, to change the mindset. We believe that now is the time for change in our area, because the focus on 1954 as being the only thing Milan has to offer is fading. That is as it should be. While it is part of our history and will remain a piece of our attraction, no one event or aspect of culture can help bring Milan to a more thriving future.

I am so excited about the changes that are in store for my home town. If you are interested, please Facebook me... https://www.facebook.com/cara.randall.5 for future updates.

called it My Len in Indiana, and for the one in Ohio also.
The one in New Mexico is like the one in Italy. (Told to me pretty snottily by a local correcting me, after moving to NM). I tried explaining it, but to nothing.
I can't win. Good thing I wasn't in Versailles.
