I'm going to stick with Central Indiana because I like downtown Indy better.

Re Southern Indiana being more similar to Kentucky... from the times I've been there Evansville seemed pretty distinct from areas across the river in Henderson / Owensboro. I'd call it solidly Midwestern. But I do find the areas of S IN near Louisville (Corydon to Salem to Scottsburg to Charlestown) to be very similar to Kentucky in a lot of ways. There were huge numbers of Kentuckians that moved right across the river from Louisville into small towns of that area, and most of them were from far SE Kentucky. My fiance is a lifelong resident of New Pekin / Salem / Borden area. I'd conservatively say 25% of people in Pekin / Borden are from Eastern KY or at least their parents were from there. I base that on the church / schools her family go to and on the (sadly) large number of Cayut fans there. All the natives there are IU, U of L, or Purdue fans. (most generally root for both IU and U of L). Every time I drove down the road I pass 5 cars with UK plates on the front.

My fiance BTW was born and raised there but her mom is from Whiteburg KY and her paternal grandfather was from Owenton KY.
