I am done with trying to find a job in Bloomington, Indy, or anywhere else in this state. No one wants me and I now accept that. In Bloomington, I applied at McDonalds, Golden Corral, Target, Lowe's to name a few. So many applicants and so many rejections for me. God, take me now, I am going to be homeless soon if I don't find a job. KILL ME!

Ready to move to Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, or anywhere else with a better job market.

Anyone else considering moving here, please stay where you are at!!!!! THERE ARE NO JOBS.

What are your job qualifications? Jobs are scarce everywhere in the country but some segments are better than others.

Where did you go? I am truthfully, ready to just give up looking and start praying for God to take my life. I will be homeless soon if I don't find a job.

I've lived in Indiana for 16 years and I've never been unemployed. The problem is either you or your profession (i.e. not every state has abundant jobs in every career field).

Bloomington is a tough market, because it's a great place to live. Whenever a lot of people want to live somewhere, you'll see lower wages / job prospects & higher rents. Supply & demand.

Bloomington is great for landlords & business owners. Unemployed folks? Not so much.

@mike - this is a telemarketing job? Phone collections agent or telephone support? Less than $10 / hour? If so, you're proving the OP's point.

I would check jobs in Indianapolis. There are actually many jobs for hourly workers out there.

Most people would make sure they had a job lined up before they actually moved somewhere, especially a smaller market like Bloomington. Did you move without a job or did you lose your last position? What types of jobs have you worked in the past and what kind of training or qualifications do you have? Knowing those things will help people here to better help you. Being able to state your strengths and qualifications will also help you when you're interviewing to actually get the job.

If you're going into job interviews with the even a little bit of the 'nobody wants me or will give me a chance' kind of attitude showing through the surface it's probably going to hurt your chances of getting hired by anybody.

It could be worse, you could be living in Illinois, Ohio or Michigan which are far worse off then Indiana! In the Midwest Indiana is about as good as it gets in today's job market.
