Default Maybe Yes, Maybe No

I'll start this thread rolling by mentioning that I accidentally drove through part of Rosecoe when I had become lost. So somebody should certainly know more than me.

But of the Rosecoe area that I saw, most of it was farmland or low rolling landscape. To be sure, it is a pretty area, but you may not survive due to a lack of employment.

If you are independently wealthy or a retiree, then you should not have problems. So there are many variables that you have not mentioned in your 'op'... and those have to be your own choice & considerations.

Carter Glass,

Wheaton, IL &
Cortland, IL

It's about 20 miles from the west burbs of Chicago, and right north of Rockford, Illinois.

It's pretty close to the Madison, Rockford, Milwaukee and Chicago. Within from 10-80 miles from each.

It's in the Rockford area: 400,000 people
60 miles from Madison: 500,000 people and a very fun progressive college city.
80 miles from downtown Milwaukee; 1,700,000 in the area
80 miles from downtown Chicago; 10,000,000 in the area

My family has lived in Roscoe for 10 yrs. It is a wonderful community to raise a family. We have a beautiful house on 3 acres of woods. The schools are highly rated and are probably where you'd want to be if you have children. Most people who live here work in Rockford. It is extremely affordable here. You can live large if you want to, comparitively speaking.

Roscoe has some very beautiful areas that are expanding with luxury real estate. There are some communities to the east of I-90/39 off of Rockton Road that look like the pristine suburban areas around Chicago.
The school district (Hononegah) is one that the majority of the population surrounding Rockford wish they were in. Great education/graduation rates and competitive athletics for boys and girls.
Take a ride down I-90 and exit at Rockton Road. Go east and look at some of the developments. You will not be disappointed.

You live 8 feet from Wisconsin. What did you expect this time of year?

It's also been an unusual year. I think it was two years ago we didn't even get our first trace of snow until the very end of January, and last year we just got one storm in December and one in February.

At least we're up in the 50's for the weekend...
