Hello,
My family was planning a camping trip to Rockford but with recent floods in our town my parents camper was totaled. While my brother and I are fine with regular tent camping my folks are not. We are wondering if there are any places to rent a cabin for a weekend in the Rockford area.
Any recommendations would be great!

I looked for cabins before all over Illinois and Rockford I think is a no go with cabins.

There were some flimsy cabins at some Jellystone I stumbled upon a while back near Sandwich IL - which probably doesnt fit your bill at all
but the point being Jellystone usually has the small small vs of a cabin
nothing short of a dressed up trailer but its a place to stay

I believe there are cabins for rent in Rock Cut State Park--you may have to check their website. I would reserve early (if available) as these would go quickly on a weekend. There may also be cabins available at White Pines State Park--which is a little ways away but not too far.

looks like there is at least a primitive cabin or more at Rock Cut. That's not bad. We stayed at a 1830's log cabin just outside of Yellowstone Natl. Park that had no electricity, no running water and no toilet--save an outhouse. But we had a Franklin wood heating and cooking stove and a barn full of wood, plus a diesel VW Beetle that had a lighter plug in the trunk that powered a fluorescent light for out cabin. We called it the Bug Powered Cabin.
