I am still in the "I dont know" catagory.

I support the right of states to deal with the illegal issue since the feds arent.

However, i am still reserving judgement on this particular law as it runs right up to the constitution limit of illegal search.

if proven it does not cross that line, then I am supportive. if however, it is proven to be a violation, then its a bad law.

My Aunt and Uncle live in Phoenix. He is an American of Hispanic decent. They are pissed, and he is generally worried that if he forgets his drivers license, and walks to Home Depot (two blocks from their house), that he'll get arrested.
Why should he worry?

As long as he is a LEGAL citizen he's OK.

Forgot his ID? No worries.

Have someone fetch it for him as quickly as possible if he gets detained, so as not to waste his time in a holding cell....or that of the arresting officer(s) who would be stuck with paperwork they probably would rather not have to deal with.....for a LEGAL resident.

Case closed......free to go.

The stupidity and short-sightedness, the inability to see repercussions to actions, the inability to see that other people may have the power to manipulate, characterizes Repugs...if they can't think, they moan and whine about "conspiracy theories". ...and don't people like Brewer appreciate THAT

So pathetic that they think NO ONE ever has a PLAN (probably because average Repugs couldn't plan their morning poop)...they just don't get it that people get into power positions to PROMOTE THEIR PLANS ...DUH! How STUPID to think otherwise....

Perfect example of an American who has lost the meaning of freedom and liberty...a few hours being held up to prove your citizenship!!!!

They won't be so casual about it when white people are stopped....I can hardly wait!!! The screaming! The cries of "Socialism" !

If you happen to look mestizo and you find yourself in Arizona, it would be a good idea to carry your passport with you.

It is very sad that in 2010 we are still subjecting people to the usage of the modern day "slave pass".
No it's sad that Americans are subjected to mass violence due to gangs and drugs that are coming over the border.
Why should we just let this continue to happen?

You only have to state you are a citizen, give your name bithdate and location and address to complete a voter registration form. You do not have to prove anything.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, a few will suffer because of the wrongs of many.

You can't compare apples to oranges.

So your argument is to ignore their entry, try to chase them down after the fact and oh if they don't get caught in the act of another crime, it's OK for them to be here?

The law says that an officer can check your status, if he/she has a "reasonable suspicion".

That gives them the right to check anyones status, for any reason they want.

Its exactly the "suspected illegal status" that this bill opens up for checking.

Read the wording yourself.
