I think you're missing the point which is that the very act itself of crossing a soverign border should come with consequences. This isn't to say that we should shoot every illegal who crosses in to our country but we sure as heck should not be rewarding them either. It is every country's right to control access to its soverign territory and we are doing a really pi$$-poor job of doing that. I think it's safe to say that none of those hard-line examples ever have to worry about large numbers of anybody sneaking in to their countries and disappearing; we however, do.
Bravo! We not only don't discourage people from crossing the borders, we encourage it through our actions. It needs to stop.
Given that liberals revere those countries as model states it is rather surprising they aren't chomping at the bit to follow their lead on illegal immigration.

This place is logical fallacy 101, it's all they got. When they aren't building a false premise, they are claiming everybody is "Scared" of them. I hate to say this it isnt going to stop unless their own country can give them what they need. They really dont want to come here. They dont want to leave their families. They just want to be able to provide for their family so they come here.

Immigration policy is a pretty substantial issue. Not to mention the GOP's platform is disturbingly consistent with some of the governments of the aforementioned nations in terms of desired level of hostility, diplomacy (or lack of ), nationalized religion, etc.
