Thats because he is planning to make all illegal aliens into legal ones... he already has a plan for legalizing all of them and if you notice, the public health care plan is only for LEGAL... once he gives them all Amnesty, they will be LEGAL... anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool
I disagree. I think he realizes that both the left and right do not want them here. Many blue collar jobs are lost because of them. During Katrina Bush had a law passed that the state could be rebuilt hiring illegals, squeezing out black contractors who lived in the area and had a good track record.
Obama said himself that people resented them primarily because of economic reasons.
He appointed Napolitano to head Homeland Security and she is getting tougher on companies that hire illegals. That is exactly what needs to be done. Make it rough for them and they go back on their own. Already a third of them have gone back home.
This debate is over healthcare and if they will be covered. You appear to be pulling at straws to say bad things about Obama. Anything will do.
There are too many people who have been hurt by their current insurance coverage - or the coverage they thought they had. There are too many middle class people who are unemployed and have no insurance at all.
Americans pay twice as much as most Western countries for health care and get inferior coverage. The system needs a drastic change. We have been complaining about escalating costs and cut coverage for decades and the guys now in charge (insurance companies) have done nothing. They cannot fix the problem because they ARE the problem.
It is obvious that we need change, and it cannot be from the companies that have caused the problem. We need the public option.
When and if health care passes, illegals will become legal in the Dream Act. S729.......

WRONG... he has said it during his campaign and during his presidency... he WANTS Amnesty PERIOD... if you have Amnesty, you ARE LEGAL... YOU QUALIFY for the public plan... he has stated MULTIPLE times he wanted Health care reform by August and then he wanted Amnesty by December.. so yes, illegals will be legals and then join into the public health care option... He WANTS them here and Napolitano is a PRO-AMNESTY person... she isn't enforcing anything on companies, the recession is... She has on multiple occasion shot down ANY enforcement of illegal immigrant legislation in her own home state and tried to pass Amnesty legislation... know your history a bit... The health care plan was designed FOR illegal immigrants considering they make up 25% of the uninsured... they WILL be getting it... one way or another...

In addition to replacing our private healthcare system with a government-run program, many have argued that this bill is in fact, a ‘backdoor’ amnesty.
The Democratically-controlled committee voted 23-18 to defeat the measure introduced by Rep. Dean Heller (R-NV), which would have required the use of the existing Income and Eligibility Verification System and the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements System, before any care is given. This move would have ensured that only U.S. citizens would receive the taxpayer funded care.
While Obama has made claims that illegal aliens will not be covered by his plan, the following line can be found among the 1018 page bill: Sec. 59B, Pg. 170, Line 1 - “Any NONRESIDENT alien is exempt from individual taxes.”

I'd have to argue that one. Just being a dreamie doesn't put someone on the 'want' list. They may have been on the public dole already.

alien - a citizen of a country other than the US
