ok, not all of the day laborers are innocent but they are still out there willing to work. And as the article said many of the legal immigrants are being harassed. I think this is an unwarrented power given to the local police department which is not trained to handle immigration issues.
If the feds want to clean up Morristown from illegal immigrants by all means get the FBI and DHS and come in and do it. But do not leave it up to the local police department that has a different array of crimes to deal with that they are trained for and have the proper tools to handle.
Hmmm were it not for your innocent day laborers the employers of such might be forced to hire legal citizens and pay a reasonable wage instead of simply pocketing the savings. What about the innocent legal citizens who are unemployed who need a job even if its only for a day or a week? I believe that legal citizens and residents are more entitled to any work in this country than any illegal.

During my last trip to Morristown, there had to be at LEAST 400 day labors hanging out looking for work across from the train station. I used to LOVE Morristown, the resturants & the mid size town shopping experience, not any more.
