Best response so far:
As wtih so many other "knotty problems", there is no single "bad actor" here.
1) affluent Americans won't clean their own houses or cut their own lawns
2) With all the other taxes and regulations imposed by the government on business, they try to "cut corners" and lower costs by hiring people they know won't complain to a union
3) The government won't use any muscular enforcement of immigration laws vis-a-vis employers who break the law
4) The Mexican government encourages the poor to migrate here illegally...it gets the most uneducated, unskilled laborers out of their own economy while still allowing these transplants to promote Mexican cultural and political hegemony over the Southwest and send cash home to help support those left behind
5) Those who come here are probably the LEAST to blame, although they know they're breaking the law; giving their kids free education and giving the entire family free health care and welfare gives them a strong incentive to come and stay.
From these and other causative factors, intelligent solutions can be found if the government is willing to be assertive with Mexico and with American companies hiring illegals; Americans ought to start doing their own work at home. Obama should not cave in to special interests like La Raza, who view every new "immigrant" as another voice in their Utopian view of a Mexican Southwest within US borders.
We know why they come, how do we deal with them after they are here and those that don't assimilate?
