MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) -- Assailants opened fire on the U.S. consulate in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey, a Mexican official said.

Nobody was injured in Sunday's shooting. Shell casings were found outside the consulate, but there were no witnesses to the attack and no one was in custody, said a spokeswoman for the Attorney General's office who was not authorized to give her name.

The spokeswoman had no further details.

Mexican media reported that one man opened fire on the consulate and another man threw a grenade that failed to explode. El Universal newspaper, citing a U.S. Embassy statement, said the attack happened before dawn Sunday. The newspaper said the consulate planned to increase security.

I will refrain from saying what I really think. . .

It's interesting that not a word is heard from the MSM. I would certainly consider this attack newsworthy. Oh, that's right......we wouldn't want to 'offend' Mexico.

Mind reader . . . that was my initial thought. Fortunately for those leeches I'm not the commander in chief, we'd already be at war.

Apparently, mexico can blind the US and every one of its citizens with its blatant corruption being perpetrated on our soil. Our pathetic government is so busy turning the other cheek, I'm beginning to think the majority of them are deaf, dumb and crazy.

Mexico has many consulates here---------many of which probably aid and abet illegal immigration. Maybe it is time to shut 'em down.

but what does that have to do with the bombing of the one in mexico? or the fact that many US diplomats, offices, embassies are targetted through out the whole world. how is this tied to immigration.

Agreed. They have more illegal aliens and consulates in the US than all of the other countries combined. Maybe we should blow up a few of theirs.
