The Senate likely won't consider anything but a comprehensive bill. If the House makes the attempt, they'll get shot down with the first bill.

Agreed. Too; Obama NEVER got his promised "amnesty" for illegal aliens and he's been POTUS for 5 years now.

However -- in spite of millions of unemployed Americans, Obama legalized millions by EO, essentially all illegals under age 31 were legalized through DACA.

Now he wants to legalize all the rest and reward them with US citizenship.

I suspect that what they may end up doing is getting something for the children brought here before they were a certain age.

I should hope that if that is done, there will be no way for the criminal parents who smuggled in their kids to be rewarded or given citizenship for having done such a horrendous act. These people turn helpless children over to some of the worst kinds of people there are, risk them being abandoned in the desert and their death just for the love of easy money and government handouts.

Recently they found an abandoned 2 year old in the desert near here when night temperatures were in the low 30s. No way should the people who did that to him be rewarded.

That tells you a lot about the mindset of the Senate --- the lust for ultra cheap labor even when many millions of Americans are living on unemployment handouts.

Strange politics -- keep the unemployment extensions flowing -- while adding many millions of illegals to the legal labor pool. How long can that be sustained?

If that happens then these "children" will be protesting to keep their parents here because of "separation of families". Anyone with half a brain can see the handwriting on the wall.

I figure securing the border will be the last piece and then conveniently forgotten about because we have no money.

Yes, that's the problem -- and the reason people turn their small children over to cartel smugglers in the first place, they know they can exploit them and get a free pass around the laws.

Never should the parents who participate in these smuggling crimes be rewarded for it. They should be permanently barred from legal entry.

The only way I can see allowing children who were smuggled in to have legal status is to allow them to apply just like all other immigrants do. That means they must find an employer sponsor or other sponsor, and the requirements of sponsors should be tightened so that the sponsor must provide a good health insurance plan and pick up all costs of his/her immigrants. The financial obligations are far too lax.

Even if their parents didn't pay a smuggler to bring their kids here they still broke our immigration laws by coming here and bringing their kids with them. The whole family needs to go back to their homelands, no exceptions.
