crop picking is one area [and probably the only area] where i do believe employers may have trouble finding legal citizens to do the job. but the answer is not illegal aliens. we need to start creating more temporary work visas for THIS PROFESSION ONLY.

Wasn't this same excuse used many years ago in an attempt to justify SLAVERY . . . but with cotton?

No the excuse was we bought and paid for the slaves and we want to use them...
Slavery and illegals apples and oranges.
Slaves were forced, illegals are here by choice.

apples and oranges..... the slaves were drug here against their will, tempoprary workers are glad to be here or they wouldn't come.

Read your History Books . . . I believe you will discover many plantation owners claiming there was no other possible and/or practical means of harvesting their cotton.
