Just so you know, border security under Obama has actually increased. He has put almost (if not slightly more than) 10,000 more patrol agents and guards on the border than Bush ever did, as well as sending more money that way to keep it secure. And drugs don't only find their way into this country via the global south. Drugs get shipped in from every corner of the globe. Corners that go beyond the Mexican-American border.
Most come from south of the border, controlled by Mexican gangs and entry routes.
The border is not secure. The fence is not complete. There increase human smuggling & violence.

All one would have to do is petition one of those arab shipping magnates and commandier a freighter or two; load them up with munitions and steam them on in under the guise of false shipping manifests to any one or more of your inner harbors.
Tell me how you would even begin to detect something shipped from afar and taken into the inner harbor of Savannah Ga for instance? Ever been down there to witness the container ships bound for your country, blithely cruising up that inner river?
How about the Mississippi? Is every single foreign freighter bound for your states where that river passes through stopped and more thoroughly inspected for any hidden munitions? Every single container off-loaded and run through radar devices?

Who cares about marijuana. That's the least of our problems. It should be legal anyway.
If it was legal, it should not be allowed to be brought in from Mexico. The Mexican cartels should have beens shut down a long time ago, there is no way marijuana should be brought over from Mexico. What's weird is if you try to bring in an avocado, they're more likely going to stop you than if you're bringing in a ton of cocaine and meth.
