Illegal aliens aren't causing the majority of the problems in the United States -- the majority of the problems in the United States are self-inflicted. If only the authorities got some backbone and actually enforced the existing immigration laws, instead of "rewarding" lawbreakers with healthcare, financial aid, and other "perks" that should go to citizens and legal immigrants...

True, but illegal immigrants violated our immigration laws and took advantage of our generosity so they aren't the innocents here either.

If the law isn't enforced, there's little disincentive for violating it and some folks would consider U.S. "generosity" to be stupidity. The current immigration policy is akin to homeowner fencing in their yard, but leaving the front door of their house wide open and expecting passersby not to go inside, make themselves at home, and take everything in sight.

Honest people would not enter a house uninvited and steal just because the house door was wide open and that was my point. The incentive for not doing so is respect for our laws, our citizens and our sovereignty which illegal immigrants don't have.
