Later Saturday evening the "Digger" was backpedalling like hell when he realized that hundreds of people were calling and tying up the LE lines in Laredo and Webb County and that he might be in a position to be prosecuted. His attribution from his SDM source was the laredo Police Department, which wouldn't even have jurisdiction in the county.
The government can restrict media access to the oil spill, but they can’t or wouldn’t restrict access to this? Think about it. It’s a local story, involving local police. The media and Border Patrol would only have knowledge of this incident if informed by the Laredo PD. Given that it is standard operating procedure for police to withhold certain info from the public, it is not farfetched for them to do so regarding this.

The State Department issued a travel advisory for Nuevo Laredo due to escalating cartel violence. It is currently a virtual war zone. Since Laredo, TX is across the river from Nuevo Laredo there is a high probability of a cartel incursion. It’s possible the police in Laredo received a directive from the Feds to classify all incidents involving the Mexican drug cartels as confidential, and generally, access to restricted info is only granted on a need-to-know basis. If this story is true, there was definitely a breach of confidentiality, unless details were leaked by the victims prior to a gag order.

Obama has tried to convince us that our borders are “more secure” than ever. He is also a proponent of Comprehensive Immigration Reform (amnesty), not to mention, spearheading a lawsuit against Arizona. If this story is true and became public, it would not bode well for garnering support for his agenda. Since our national security is inextricably linked to our ability to secure our borders, this incident would glaringly underscore our failure.

I am not anti-Obama, otherwise I would not have voted for him. However, I am also not naive enough to believe everything we are told by the government. This story may be a hoax, but it could also be true. Only time will tell. In the meantime, I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
