I'm trying to find any info on a company called S.M.I. from Rathdrum that made 50 cal rifles. If anybody has ever heard of this company, please let me know anything you can. Thanks to all!

Can't find anything about them that is valid. Suggest you contact a gunsmith in Rathdrum:

Bat Machine Co. (Tom Dixon)
11550 N. Bruss Rd.
Rathdrum, ID 83858
Phone: (208) 687-0341 (3pm - 5pm PST)

They should be able to help.

The guy at Bat Machine told me that he's been there for 20 years and they had either moved or gone out of business before he got there. He said he thought it was Ralph Stebbins, but not sure. But they made the 50 BMG rifles.

I know all about SMI. That was my fathers gun business. He closed the business in '89.
