This is an awesome shot. There are many other 360 panos's of Idaho and they are incredible.

Moose came this morning to eat bird seed that fell out of my bird feeder. I'm glad he didn't knock the whole thing down. Kind of surprised that deer and moose eat bird seed. Guess they can't be too picky in the winter.

Default Clark Fork Valley. Looking towards Montana. Summer 2020.

I’m an avid explorer of the Idaho forests. I like to take my motorcycle on long rides through the mountains. On this ride I rode from Hayden to Clark Fork and then up Lightning Creek. This is the view of the Clark fork river valley looking toward Montana.

Grain is grain even if it is small grain. All grain is grass seed, even bird seed is grass seed, and all ruminates will eat any grass seed they can get a hold of.

While I love to see a moose, I wish they would stay far away from my own yard.

Yup.
Moose are so big they can really trash a place. I've seen them work over decks, barns, sheds, and all kinds of outbuildings, and they will raise hell with shrubs and bushes in garden plots.

They're cranky, too. It's easy to scare off an elk or a bear, but moose have no natural enemies, so they might take a fright if they're startled, but if they do, they'll come back all pissed off a few moments later.

A friend of mine who passed on a long time back was an expert and dedicated black-powder hunter.
He said the worst afternoon he ever spent in his life was in a narrow canyon bottom, when he stumbled into a mating fight between two bull moose.

All he had was one shot. He would get one of them for sure, but if he did, the other would get him before he had time to reload.

So all he could do was hit the dirt and grovel down under some brush as best he could. Both bulls could smell him, so they would break off their fight and go looking for him for a few moments, then go back at each other again.
They kept that up until the sun went down.
Just to be safe, my old pal laid right where he was until it was completely dark, and then using his compass, made it partway back to his camp. He said he didn't want to stop until he was clear out of their home district.
