My only point of issue (and it's slight because I'm an old man) is that the music does not stay high quality when the volume gets up there. In addition, with bass set at +10, I feel absolutely nothing. I almost feel like I did something wrong.
I find the new Elantra's interior is better looking and mature than my 2015 Elantra. The problems with the stereo is pretty common for factory stereo units. A trip to an automotive stereo specialist can get you an amp and better speakers to improve the sound quality.

Last Saturday I went on a really long test drive in the 2018 Elantra GT Sport, turbo engine and dual clutch automatic. Hyundai of Roseville, highly recommended, great people.
We had to bring the car back from a Sacramento dealer to the Roseville dealership and I was offered to bring back the GT by following the sales man who was driving another car.
Obviously, I jumped at the chance driving it alone. Total miles driven was about 14.
Recently I drove a Kia Niro, a Mazda 3, a VW GTI and now the Elantra GT.
The Mazda 3 just didn't turn me on at all. I know about all the great reviews, but I didn't feel any connection.
The Kia Niro is a very fine car but not as exciting as the next two:
VW GTI with the DSG tranny - well, let's just say love, love, love after leaving the second traffic light. It's hard to get anything as much fun for less than 50K. The GTI made me feel fifteen years younger.
And the Elantra GT Sport? It has everything the VW has minus maybe 20 %. The Elantra turbo is a fantastic car for someone who loves to drive, but doesn't need the quickest and the very best there is.
Given the smaller cost of purchase and upkeep I think the Elantra GT turbo is my next vehicle. Take it for a drive, you won't be disappointed.

I just bought a Civic Si. Part of that decision was the 'fun' factor of the Si... but honestly, more important to me was that the only annoying 'nanny' crap on it is a right side lane camera, which I turned off on the first day because every time it came on it startled me... and I know how to user mirrors because I learned to drive when you had to pay attention to what the hell you were doing. An argument can be made (I guess) that all this fancy stuff is safer... but I think an argument can also be made that it'll contribute to complacency. Particularly for those among us that can't put the cell phone down.

Agreed, I drive a stick too, know how to adjust side mirrors and also at any given time am fully aware of what is going on around me at all corners.

I hate the new car ads showing inattentive drivers being helped by the nanny devices. Gives the wrong message esp since I have teen drivers.
