I was driving down the street and I heard something weird, like a rattling. I didn't think too much of this and I kept driving. Took my stuff out the car as usual.

When I went back to my car I noticed that half of the side panel was gone.

I drove down the street in which I came and didn't see the side piece anywhere.

Is it necessary to get this fixed right away?

I mean, my car still functions normally and that's all I really care about.

How much would it cost to get it replaced and where would I get it done?

LOL! You're right. Maybe that's why the replacement molding was only $35.

What's a "side panel"? Is that held on with little plastic clips? Or is it something like a door?

Yes. I meant side molding. I didn't mean a panel.

I'm not too familiar with automotive terms.

Scotch tape should be $2 or so.
