We just took our new Highlander on a 300 mile trip. It is rated 17/22. I was pleasantly surprised to average 23 mpg on the first fill up. The trip was 25% around town and 75% highway. I was not expecting to beat posted mpg on a new car.

The car has a very nice ride and smooth acceleration. My wife and I are so glad we decided on this vehicle over the Sorrento and Santa Fe.
