Are there any magnet and/or performing arts schools in the Huntsville/Decatur area?

Lee High School is the Creative and Performing Arts Magnet School in Huntsville:

Good information. So basically, Lee is a performing arts/magnet school, but just has a "regular" school name.

Lee is a "regular" school, the "magnet" helps up the SAT scores.

Davis Hills MS and Cavalry ES are other "magnet" schools.

I prefer a 'true' magnet, like Discovery School in Murfreesboro TN, where all the kids are 'magnets' rather than a social engineering experiment...

BTW, Cavalry Hill is so named because of the 'Buffalo Soldiers' 10th Cavalry Regiment stationed there during the Spanish-American War.

First, Davis Hills is not, I repeat not a magnet school The school next door ASFL (Academy for Science and Foreign Language) is a magnet school and a very good program. Triple A is the elem/middle magnet school for arts. You might what to go to the Huntsville City Schools web site and click on schools for more information.
