Tommy's Pizza at Bridge Street Town Centre closes after 5-year run | al.com

What a shame. I liked their pizza. It was good, and pretty good price when you just want a slice or two.

Tommy's also had a second location near the Publix on Whitesburg Dr. That location closed awhile back. My gut feeling is the blame shouldn't lie squarely on Bridgestreet. It is possible the restaurant had other issues if neither location worked out for them...

I agree. Now if Famous Joe's runs into these problems, I will be a very sad person in life. Love the food there.

Only thing worse would be if Pizza Hut on Governors closed. Except for Cherokee, NC, it is the best.

I worked there on opening day and for the next five years - we took great pride in our product back then.

BTW - we loved Tommy's Pizza and we will miss enjoying our mushroom/spinach pizza al fresco.

Venice Pizza just down the road. Parking can be fun, but no more fun than Bridge Street.

Every time I wind up in that parking lot, I go to El Coyote. Amazing!

Their menu is too extensive - french fries, hamburgers, fried seafood dinners, onion rings, chicken fingers, oh yeah - and pizza.

Don't look at the menu. I don't check it out till I'm eating pizza, and then only to say "Oh, they have other stuff." I don't care about the other stuff - well maybe a calzone, some zeppelis, and my son gets a meatball sub or chicken parm sub every so often.

I know what you're saying, I'm just thinking is all that other stuff on the menu necessary? It makes me wonder how much of it just comes from the freezer. I think he should trim the menu to the items that are the real money-makers. I mean, what if I actually ordered the fried seafood dinner?
