Anybody have any info on who else is going to be in the new Wal-mart shopping center?

I heard that one of the places was either a Burger King or Wendy's, and I had heard a few years back that Wendy's wanted a place closer to East Limestone or the new HS on County Line.

I'd love to see a Popeye's out here.

The listing agent for the Wilson home put a link to the whole story in the remarks section. I guess the current owner decided to just embrace the history of the home.

On the Popeye's front:

I joined an elderly couple in talking with the Owner of the Popeyes on South Parkway. He is the owner of all 3 in the metro.

He remarked at how he would LOVE to put one in Madison, at the time he wanted it next to the McDs on 72.

But the problem was Madison wanted him to build a certain size place and accompanying parking lot (Think Jacks on Hughes) and he just didn't want to do that apparently. He made it seem it was a fiscal reason on his end.

Also the traffic would have to be comparable to his other locations and he just wasn't sure if any place in Madison would justify it.

I can kind of see his point, I LOVE Popeyes, I eat at the one on University mostly, but when I had this conversation it was 2008 at the South Parkway Haysland Square location.

I don't believe he will end up putting one out here, I could see a Bojangles going out at the new Wal Mart, the local owner of the North Alabama ones' apparently loves to build more. I like that place, but it's no Popeyes.

Good info BMW Dave.

How long ago was that?

In the past few years we've seen an increase of Saints and LSU fans in the area, so that would bode well for Popeye's (we're taking over!)

It was Spring of 2008.

I and the elderly couple next to me both urged him to put one in Madison, as it turned out we all live there.

I was actually born and raised here in Madison. I grew up on KFC and discovered Popeyes in High School, but became an addict in winter 2008. I use to go several times a week, but do it in moderation now. haha
