Shame it wasn't built well enough to withstand Ike - a highrise on the Lake should have been. Repairs and polishing up are one thing but I still have to wonder about the overall structural soundness - you can't go underneath to the skeleton and work.

Y-IKES!!! I never knew it did any damage at all.

I know this is probably the least of their worries, but does the colored lighting still work?

Have some clients in that bldg. and they were showing me all the issues they had after Ike - elevators, water intrusion all over the place. Don't recall any colored lighting on the exterior but never really paid that much attention to it. I feel for those who bought there with the intention of having a permanent home on the lake because the vast majority of those who live in the area - don't like the hi-rise intrusion on the lake and consider it an eyesore - so it hasn't been too favorably received. Then they had all the Ike damage just feeding the comments of those who already were negative. A lot of people bought solely as investors hoping to flip them as the economy was good at the time so there are a lot of vacant owners (another dislike of homeowners) but for those who have been in this area forever and bought with the intention of having a magnificent home -- it has been a hard, rough road and I hope their issues are resolved because they have spent a relative fortune to live there.

The colored lights are about the only GOOD thing I've ever heard about the place. I feel for those who bought into it initially. That, and the eyesore it poses for all of us on both Taylor and Clear Lakes.

It is quite ugly along the landscape that's for sure. Looks like it is a hi-rise that belongs in the main part of Houston, not in a relatively residential area with open views.
