Hello,

We are looking to buy a home at the Telfair community and are divided between different builders. For same price range, the sft varies between different builders. Does this mean that we are compromising on the quality/upgrades if we choose to go with a builder that gives more sft for the same price?

To be more specific, how would one compare Ryland homes vs Meritage vs DavidWeekley?

Your input will greatly help in us choosing a home

Thanks

First of all you need to split these up. Ryland and Meritage build in the traditional section of Telfair. David Weekley builds in the STND section. Weekley will be higher, since in the STND section there will be stone elevations, upgraded landscape packages, landscape lighting...etc. If you noticed, the Weekley, Trendmaker, and Highland section look a lot nicer than the Ryland, Beazer, and Meritage section.

If price were a big issue, I would go with Meritage. If you are willing to pay a bit more, a Weekley is worth it. Depends on the plan however. What plans are you looking at?

We didnt get to look at different sections yet. Is there a huge difference between the sections? We wouldnt mind paying more for a DavidWeekley home if its located in a much nicer neighborhood. What would be the criteria for choosing neighborhoods at Telfair? Is it price of the homes or anything else? Pardon my ignorance but what is STND section? Thanks for replying!

I would go with Meritage over Ryland. I would also go with Trendmaker over DW.

I would go with either Trendmaker, or David Weekley, besides building a quality home, they also have good customer service.
