We are looking to get a new puppy next year and are just trying to do our homework right now. We have had dogs in the past, but have never attended any schools, training, obedience in the Houston area. We now live in Katy, TX and are trying to find a place that can train using positive reenforcement in a group setting. We found a place called Pup Scouts that seems pretty on par with our desires for a training facility, but wanted to get other opinions from people. So if you have had a puppy that went through an obedience class please post up where it was and how you liked it.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

You might want to inquire with any of the local dog training clubs in the area. Most have, at the very least, your basic puppy classes and the larger clubs, go on from there. Or, they can at least give you some good direction.

I did one at Houston Dog Ranch ( houstondogranch.com) starting at 16 weeks. Very positive. Really enjoyed it. Also, it's a great facility to board dogs. It's at Blalock and Long Point, basically.

I also know that Jim Burwell trains out in Katy at the second Rover Oaks. I had him help with a rescue dog. While he was kind, and expensive, I think Houston Dog Ranch is better.
