The Silverlake neighborhoods are a great area. Schools are nice and it's very safe. You will enjoy it there.

Was there some particular type of information you where looking for?

In Pearland you cannot go wrong with Silverlake. Compared to Shadow Creek Ranch the taxes are pretty low as well. I have a friend living there and he always says good things about the community.

But, isn't insurance much higher?

If you buy a home in Brazoria Co., which most of Pearland is in, you will need purchase windstorm insurance as a condition of having a mortgage loan approved. Windstorm insurance can be quite expensive.

Higher than Shadow Creek? Part of SCR lies in Brazoria County (same as Silverlake), and insurance there is the same as Silverlake. The other part of SCR is in Fort Bend County - my insurance agent told me that their homeowner's insurance is actually much HIGHER than on the Brazoria County side.

Perhaps you meant the insurance is higher in Pearland than Houston. Homeowner - yes, I believe that's right. Auto - ours went down when we moved from Houston to Pearland, but that was 10 years ago.

Some sections inside Silverlake have active neighborhood watch programs, to deter crime. There is also a new sherriff's substation located at the Silverlake rec center (or whatever they call it). The substation was just opened this year.

I try to keep up with crime in Pearland, and overall I think Silverlake is a safe neighborhood.
