My advise would be to stay north of 529, although as Reader529 pointed out, there are some nice neighborhoods to the south as well.

Truth be told, I'm probably the whitest person out there; I'm practically translucent.
But I don't like the whole "white flight" movement which seems to abound in Houston surburbia. Everywhere you go there will some good and some bad. I've met great people (and jerks) of every demographic. Again, very best of luck!

Reader529, I do understand where you're coming from. The demographics at the area schools is something I'm considering, though not a dealbreaker. I was the only black kid in many of my college classes at St. John's (science geek), but it didn't bother me a bit. I'm not sure what that woud've been like in kindergarten, though. Something to think about I guess.

But I don't like the whole "white flight" movement which seems to abound in Houston surburbia. Everywhere you go there will some good and some bad. I've met great people (and jerks) of every demographic. Again, very best of luck!
