I am moving down to Houston in August and have been in contact with a local apartment company and they have suggested a number of potential apartments.

These are the areas that were suggested and I was hoping that I could get some insight into these areas and what people think. I am 23 years old, single, and a teacher (will be working at Aldine ISD). Thanks!

Houston - zip codes 77070, 77069, 77090, 77049
Spring
Kingwood
The Woodlands
Humble

Specifically for the Houston areas, are they safe neighborhoods? And for all of them, what is the area/community like? The apartments are so different from ones that you find in the Midwest, but they all look really nice.

live in the Heights not any of these zips.... I worked for Aldine when in my 20's and I would never want to be in Humble. Zero night life just kids and families. I lived in Garden Oaks which was 10 miles from my school. Great location. easy access to all Houston has to offer.

Kingwood is very safe and family friendly with lots of tress and walking trails and parks. The Woodlands also fits that description. Humble is a bit sketchy in areas and nice in others, same for Spring. If you decide on Kingwood let me know and I can suggest a good complex.

Did you bother to read the article? This occurred about 50 mi. east of Houston.

I agree w/ Westres about Garden Oaks if you want to be closer to town. If you want to be further out, then I would choose Kingwood. The Woodlands is nice but a little further than I would like to drive, but that is a personal decision you need to make.

Those zip codes are no place for a 23 year old single person.
