I am looking at building a new home in Summerwood and wanted to know what builder I should look at. Anyone have any good or bad experiences that I should know about?

With lennar there are very few things you can upgrade and don't ask them to do anything special to the home, they will tell you no..

We signed a contract with lennar to build a home and it was horrible trying to get them to do anything out of the ordinary or custom that we wanted. So we are moving to J.Patrick homes as they are a more accommodating builder..

Meritage is a good builder. They are building in Summerwood right? We built one in Walden on Lake Houston, and love our house. They worked with us about moving some walls, widening doorways, creating an extra door way, etc. We got to choose where we wanted our outlets and cable/phone jacks. We got to choose where fans went, etc. It's always stressful building from scratch, but worth the process in the end. We had an overall good experience. There were a couple of things that they missed (like they forgot to frame out the door from the garage to the backyard). It was fixed they next time we checked on the house (about a week later).
