I think we're more or less talking about 18 degrees versus 98 degrees here.

Silver Wings sums up my feelings pretty well. Except while i agree the shower is the only warm part of the day - sometimes I would take several just to thaw out - you have to let the water run a few minutes to warm up the frozen tub surfaces and when you get out it's a race to dry off and get clothes back on.

The part I hate most about winters is that no matter how warm I heat the house, I can still feel the chill emanating from the floors and walls.

Then there's the morning dread of getting out of bed from under the covers.

It's funny that you ask this. Today is 12/15 I am living in Denver right now...moving to North Houston in 2 weeks...Yeah it's -15 degrees!!! Don't get me wrong I love to ski, snow shoe, ect...but I don't love driving on snow packed icey roads or being so cold it hurts. It's a trade off here in CO hold out during winter; skiing and wrapped in blankets then have a sick summer of climbing, mountain biking, rafting, golf, or just about anything else outdoors. If you are planning on moving here do so in the summer so you can acclimate through the colder months.

Been traveling in the Tennesee area - and I must say that 27 degrees there felt much warmer than 40 degrees here. I only needed a sweater there. Houston being so humid, has that "sting" when the cold hits your face that was not present in states less humid. The cold was much more tolerable and in fact felt good. Cold without the sting isn't bad.

I like the cold weather.
HOWEVER, the 80 to 35 and back to 80 is driving me a little nutty. Sigh, but that's Houston.

I thought I liked the cold...until I moved here! I LOVE the weather down here. I had no idea life could be so much better with the sun shining almost every day. I do NOT miss the snow. I will NOT miss the long gray winter. I will NOT miss carrying my parka through the mall while I shop. I love running around town in just a sweater here

It definitely sucks...I was born and raised in Indianapolis and we have the most inconsistent weather in the US. I hate having to clean snow off my car, heating my car up for 5 - 10 minutes, driving 15 - 20 mph for fear that my car will skid into a ditch/wall/another car, etc. This is the reason I am planning to leave here for good.

I love the cold weather too. I doubt I could ever live in the northeast, but I could in Colorado.
No reason to suffer from a grey dreary day there - just head up past the clouds on a 14er.
