She's raised now about 4-4/12 foot...I think if we move her in the slings back a bit, we can get another 1/2 foot or so. It's the dam tower! We had the boat built with a lower tower than normal...but it still has an impact with stuff like this! Shoulda kept the old boat...removalable arch! Have to wait until husband gets home to see what he thinks. House will not be a problem...we're 18 ft above sea level..so no concerns there (this time)

We just the call from SeaBrook alerting us precaution wise...no evacs planned at this point. I see Galveston isn't even evacuating right now.

When is this thing projected to hit???

I've got a mare with a 6 week old foal I'm watching for a friend, and I need to decide what to do with her. She's in Waller near Prairie View though, so I might just stick them in the bigger stall, add more shavings, extra water buckets and hay.

Just watching the news now....they say between 7-9 tomorrow am. Could bring 10 inches of rain! Also said to expect high winds 50-75mph winds ALL day! Good luck with the livestock.

Hey KWPN, I think they should be okay with what you want to do. Are you going to be there?

I think it should abate by the time it reaches the horses. Tornados are more of a concern in that area, and that could happen anytime in Texas.

I understand if we loose power, a couple of the hunting neighbors are going to have some major BBQ's for the neighborhood. All that deer meat is better cooked than in the melting freezer.

Traffic was a mess coming home on 45 South (and it normally isn't for me) but I guess this sunny day everyone believe they needed to hurry home in case the storm blew in NOW. Of course, maybe it was to stop and buy those 15 loaves of bread, 8 gallons of milk and an entire shelf of water for that family of 2 or 4 people. Geez..............people must we take everything. At worst you might be out of power for a few hours or a day or two -- but people are buying like they are supplying an underground shelter with rations for 6 months. And these are stores near downtown and beyond .... not necessarily on the south side.

Yeah they showed west-siders hitting up the HEB's for their supplies like Armageddon is near. Meanwhile, I'll bet cash that many of their places of employment in that area will still be open tomorrow morning.

EA- see, it's not just a Woodlands mentality.

Meanwhile here in this part of Clear Lake, everything is business as usual. You wouldn't know it was coming w/o the media.

LOL...same here. There have been people out on the lake all day...water-skiing, knee boarding. And other than the heat....the day was beautiful! Cloudless blue, blue sky!
